Online/Outside School Phys Ed program

Students in grade 12 are required to complete a Phys. Ed. credit outside of school hours. There are two simple parts to the program and both must be completed on time in order to gain the credit and qualify for graduation. NO CREDIT = NO GRADUATION!

Step 1: Read over the program information: bit.ly/SJCPE40fInfo

Everyone needs to go through the list of activities and choose the activities that they MIGHT do this year. Those need to be listed on the permission form with the appropriate risk factor number. An activity NOT on that list CAN NOT BE COUNTED later on without redoing the form, so list anything that you might possibly do. Just because an activity is on the list that doesn't mean that you have to do it, just that you COULD. Activities that are NOT listed in the information package CAN NOT BE COUNTED.

Questions? See Mr. Robson in room 213 or email misterjrobson at gmail dot com

Step 2: The completed activity list needs to be signed by a parent/guardian for all students under 18, any students who are over 18 just sign it themselves.

permission slip: bit.ly/SJCPE40fPermission

Step 3: Return the sheet WITH A VALID EMAIL ADDRESS to Mr. Robson in room 213.

Step 4: Students must READ 5 units of information and complete 3 UNIT TESTS online. These can be accessed here: bblearn.merlin.mb.ca

Students must get a score of 21/30 or greater to pass. If that score isn't achieved, students have a total of 5 tries per test to reach that. After 5 tries you are locked out and must discuss your options with Mr. Robson.

ONLINE HEALTH TESTS ARE DUE BEFORE DECEMBER 1. Don't delay, get those done ASAP!

Step 5: Students must complete 75 hours of approved physical activity (see step 1). Of that 75, a MAXIMUM of 25 hours can be low-level intensity activities like walking, stretching, yoga, table tennis, etc. Those hours are tracked online via a Google Sheet that will be sent to the email address provided. (parents may request access as well, since parents will be required to sign off on the hours at the end of the year.)

PROGRESS WILL BE NOTED ON POWERSCHOOL DURING SPRING BREAK. ALL
HOURS COMPLETED BEFORE SPRING BREAK MUST BE INPUTTED BEFORE SPRING BREAK AND WILL NOT BE COUNTED IF ADDED LATER.

ALL 75 PHYSICAL ACTIVITY HOURS NEED TO BE COMPLETE BEFORE JUNE 1, 2016.

Failure to complete the program will mean that students may not graduate, so it's important to stay on top of these requirements.

Again, help is available any time from Mr. Robson in room 213 or by emailing misterjrobson at gmail dot com.
