SJC Student Featured at World Of Wheels

My experience at the 2013 World of Wheels was amazing. I met alot of very nice people, and a very big car enthusiast "Dennis Gage" who actually autographed my 1970 GTO dashboard. It was an amazing experience I will never forget for the rest of my life, the car's I saw there were beautiful time capsules, including my own. Having my own car at the show meant I was an exhibitor with special access to places, also in being the youngest man with a car in the show I won 3 awards. One for participation, another for nicest car for youth overall, and lastly 3rd nicest Pontiac at the show. Once again I will never forget this once in a lifetime experience.

Holocaust Survivor Speaks With Students

Today the students of SJC/GWMS had an eye-opening experience listening to the story of Holocaust survivor Dr. Sidney Finkel, who tells the story of his childhood vividly and honestly. History, courage, luck and foolhardiness took Finkel on a journey from Poland in 1939 at the age of seven to Buchenwald, Germany; Thereseinstadt, Czechoslovakia; and finally, as a teenager, to Windmere, England, in 1945. The author of Sevek and the Holocaust: The Boy Who Refused to Die, Finkel did not speak about his experiences until 1993 when he visited the U.S. Holocaust Memorial in Washington, DC. Since beginning that journey, he has spoken in hundreds of schools in the United States.
